Growing apples in Georgia to include planting, pruning, disease/pest prevention, harvesting
Speaker: Josh Fuder, UGA Extension agent for Cherokee County will lead you on a global journey through time that connects the Tian Shian mountains of Kazakhstan, Romans, to early American history through the lens of the quintessential American fruit the Apple. Fuder will explain the characteristics that allowed the apple to become so widespread and the complex factors leading to a loss in genetic diversity. Fuder will explain the preservation work the University of Georgia and others are involved in and how you can help.

A charge of $10 per person for this program is applicable and registration is required to attend.
